Classroom Management

 I was observing a class of English Language in grade two.The students in this class are of mixed ages and abilities, and all of them are Syrian refugees.Syrian refugees , as we all know , have a very week English language , and use the Arabic language so much.

I will discuss some points related to classroom management. In terms of time, teacher did not allocate time for each instruction or task. Teacher did not design instructional time or students engaging time.There is a lot of time wasted in class.She repeats over and over till the end of the period without using time in an effective way.

In terms of classroom climate, teacher did not build any kind of personal comunication with students.
She is like a leader or boss that gives orders to follow without any sense of cooperation or realtionship with students.

This kind of class is not only bothering but also stressing. I think such faults in classroom management will ruin education , and the blame here is not on the students if they are unable to perform, but on the teacher because she is responsible of such faults.

  1. I agree. It is the teacher's responsibility to win her student's attention, engage them in activities and use the time in the most useful way possible. It takes a responsible and caring teacher to do so.

  2. a professional teacher is the one who gives from her heart, know how to manage time, how to plan for each lesson and how to build a good relationship with students based on trust. i think if this teacher knows about students' prior knowledge and know what are their interests she can give a good results.

  3. Really sad about those students, this teacher must be punished. She ruins a future of many kids. I think the responsibility is on her as well as school supervisors that his duty to make a quick visits to teachers to see what they are doing in class and check students attitude toward teacher.

I agree with you, and I think that each teacher to be able to teach she should not say that the new ways of teaching are not efficient, I won't use them, and not also say that they don't fit my class so I won't use them, instead she has to work on modifying these stages so she can have a better classroom environment and management for the students and for her, and be able to have a better teaching for the students.

  5. It is a very interesting topic because nowadays there are many teachers who have many management problems which affect the learning process and the understanding of many students including high and low achievers.
